Search Criteria Options

This demo shows how you can control what content is included or excluded from search results. You can limit searches by post type, categories, tags, or other criteria to make results more accurate and relevant.

To test this demo, try searching for “Blog Post.”

Default Search Results

This section shows the default Divi search results page for comparison before applying any enhancements.

Included Post Types

This example includes only specific post types, categories, and tags in the search results. It also limits the search keyword matching to selected fields such as Title, Excerpt, and Content. Only content that meets these criteria will appear in the results.

Excluded Post Types

This example excludes the “Posts” post type from search results. Even if a matching keyword exists inside a post, it will not be displayed because the post type is excluded from the search query.

Custom Meta Terms

This example enables searching within custom meta fields. A specific meta key has been added to selected posts, and when you search for the custom meta value, the related content will appear in the results even if the keyword is not present in the title or content.

Included Post Types (Live AJAX Search Results)

This example demonstrates how the Live AJAX search results respect the included post types setting. Only the selected post types will appear instantly in the dropdown results as users type in the search field.

Custom Meta Terms (Live AJAX Search Results)

This example shows how Live AJAX search can match keywords inside custom meta fields. When a meta key and value are configured, matching results will appear in the dropdown even if the keyword is not present in the post title or content.

Note: These examples demonstrate how you can fully control what content appears in search results. You can include or exclude post types, limit search behavior to specific content areas, and even allow searches within custom meta fields. Combining these settings gives you precise control over how users find content on your website.
